Volunteer

St. Catherine Labouré School, in conjunction with the Parent Club, hosts many events during the course of the year. These events foster a sense of community within the school, facilitate an environment where friendships can be formed among parents, help make the St. Catherine Labouré experience personal and positive, and sponsor faculty and teacher appreciation events. These events could not be possible without the help of volunteers. 

Volunteer hours are mandatory. In order to fulfill the volunteer requirements, each family must do one of the following: 

• Time Option #1: Volunteer on an ongoing basis – namely, weekly recess or lunch duty. The first shift is from 11:10 am to noon; the second shift is from 11:55 am to 12:45 pm; or stay for both shifts.
• Time Option #2: Volunteer to work at three school or Parent Club events during the year.
• Time Option #3: Spearhead one Parent Club event during the year.
• Time Option #4: Volunteer for Hot Lunch on a weekly basis.

Volunteer hours/requirements must be completed by March 15. If the requirements are not completed by this date, the Treasure Fee will be applied to the FACTS account and due by May 1. Volunteers who miss a weekly service time (recess duty, lunch duty, Hot Lunch, etc.) will be subject to a $50 fee for each time missed. Volunteers who miss 3 or more times or who are tardy 3 times will be assessed the Treasure Fee and dismissed from weekly duty.

In lieu of volunteering, families have the option to pay the Treasure Fee. This must be indicated on registration or re-registration forms. If a family chooses to pay the Treasure Fee, the amount is due in full even if that family decides to volunteer during the year. The Treasure Fee is $1000 per family and is due in full by May 1. This fee is non-refundable and is due in full even if a student withdraws at any point during the year.
